　　On the morning of 2^nd July, the first BIT-SANTENDER Summer School on Innovation and Entrepreneurship inaugurated at Beijing Institute of Technology（BIT）. The vice-president of BIT Mei Hong, Asia-Pacific Consumer Finance President of Santander Zhou Wei and representative of Technical University of Madrid Claudio Feijoo attended the opening ceremony.

　　Mei Hong delivered a speech on the ceremony. He introduced the development of innovation and entrepreneurship in China as well as the innovation and entrepreneurship education and strength in industry-university-research of BIT. He also mentioned in his speech how to build core competence. Mei encouraged the students to treasure the learning opportunity and fully develop their potential. Zhou Wei gave an introduction to the distribution of Santander in China and its idea to support higher education. He told the students to work hard to learn about China as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. Claudio Feijoo described the theme and mission of the program. Professor Joan Bruno from Technical University of Madrid, Madam Laura Primo, representatives of International Office and all school members were also present at the ceremony.

　　The 3-week Summer School is sponsored by Santander and undertook by BIT and UPM (Technical University of Madrid). 47 Students from China, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Greece, Ecuador and Argentina will take part in the activity.
